If you were at Glastonbury 2019 - or if you watched it on the telly - you will likely recall Kylie Minogue’s amazing set when she played the coveted Legends’ Slot on the Sunday. During her show, she invited Chris Martin on stage, and now the Coldplay frontman has reciprocated.

Coldplay were playing in New Jersey on Saturday night (June 4th) as part of their massive Music Of The Spheres world tour, when their frontman got the Australian pop icon to join them on the stage at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

“We’d grown up idolising a few amazing pop stars,” Martin told the crowd. “And the day that this person came to see our show in the year 2000, we just thought that someone had landed from Mars, because she’d just basically come off the television, as far as we could tell, and we’d grown up loving her. And then she got better and better, and still keeps getting better and better... You will know her, and we love her, and we’re so grateful that she’s here to sing with us.”

The frontman then introduced Kylie, before they teamed up to deliver a stripped back version of her 2005 megahit, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, the same song that Martin played guitar on at Glasto (pictured, top).

Sharing the footage on Twitter, the band wrote: “Thank you Kylie Minogue for letting us be your backing band. We love you.”

Kylie later posted a picture of confetti on the venue floor, saying: “Thank you Coldplay for a beautiful, joy filled night! Love you always!!!!”

Coldplay, who are in the midst of their world tour, recently launched a free app for fans to make their journeys to and from the shows as eco-friendly as possible.

The band's tour swings by the UK in August, where they will play at London’s Wembley Stadium, and Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow.
