UK Eurovision hero Sam Ryder has released a new single titled Somebody, his first since competing with Space Man at the song contest earlier this year.
The singer announced the news on his Twitter today (19th August) along with a snippet of the music video to accompany it.
He wrote: The ‘Somebody’ music video is OUT NOW!!! There’s LOADS of stunts and a golden retriever so what you waiting for…!?? Go give it a watch and sing your heads off 💛✌️LOVE YA, DREAMERS! ☀️🌈🌊🦮💈🍿🕺🚕”.
The new single is expected to help the launch of Ryder’s upcoming debut album and includes some his real life fans in the music video.
In a separate statement about the song, the singer also added: “Somebody is inspired by YOU! All of the kindness, positivity and joy we’ve experienced so far this year.
"Ultimately it’s about the joy of giving love and experiencing love.”
Apart from these two singles, not many other details surrounding Sam’s upcoming album have been revealed but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
Sam, of course, represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin this year and led us to near victory with a second-place finish that included the highest points score the UK has ever had.
Following that, his single Space Man shot to number 2 in the Official Singles Chart and became the highest-charting UK Eurovision entry since Gina G’s Ooh Ahh… Just A Little Bit in 1996.
Next year, Eurovision will be held in the UK due to Sam’s success after winners of the competition, Ukraine, were forced to pull out because of the ongoing conflict in the country.
Currently seven cities have made the shortlist to host the song contest out of the 20 that put their names forward.
