"I definitely don't put myself in the chef category, I think I'd say more of a trainer who likes to share recipes on Instagram"

The book is a follow-on from his previous cookbook 'Wean In 15', which he says was to help young kids onto proper food. This one is aimed around the idea of coming together and cook as a bonding experience with the whole family.

"It's about getting families sitting down, enjoying food together, there's actually a few recipes which you can get the kids involved in and I really believe it's so important to role model at a young age the importance of food and enjoying that process, having it as a time to connect and kind of communicate as opposed to just sitting in front of the TV and it's all ready meals"

Speaking of letting his own kids in on the action, Joe admits "We make mess, it's chaos."

"You have to embrace the fact that there's going to be mess everywhere but it's important learning and they love it, it lights up their world and when they sit down and enjoy the food I think they interact with it better. I think they're more open to trying new things when they've been involved in the process I think"

Joe's Family Food is out now in hardback.
