We were all glued to the twists and turns of the nail-biting drama - but viewers have picked holes in the plot with vital questions going unanswered.
Following the story of Megan aka Cassie (played by Cush Jumbo) who is confronted by her secret past which comes back to bite her firmly on the backside and sees her family embroiled in a murder investigation.
But at the end of the sixth episode, we see Megan and her daughter Kayleigh locked in an underground room in the police station by corrupt officer Brian Goldberg who is working with the kidnappers.
However, at the start of the following episode, Megan and Kayleigh are miraculously out of the office and talking to Detective Broome upstairs, with no mention of being locked in there by Goldberg or how they got out.
Viewers took to social media to investigate what had happened to the missing information.
One fan inquired: “Why didn't Cassie and Kayleigh mention anything about Goldberg LOCKING THEM IN AN OFFICE? Someone would have had have come help them get out of there... Surely that would have identified the leak earlier?”
Another penned: “How did they get out the locked office in the police station?”
A third asked: “Just binged #StayClose on @NetflixUK and while overall it was good, a few gaps in the story didn't seem to make sense. How did no one find Goldberg, or notice him missing sooner. How did Ken get Barbie out of the cop shop, who let Megan and Kayleigh out of their room...”
While another user questioned: “How did Megan and Kayleigh escape the locked office and why didn't they mention Goldberg had locked them in?”
