The long-awaited follow up to her award-winning series Fleabag has been given the green light.

A new TV show from actress, comedian and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been approved by Prime Video, according to Deadline.

The actress signed a massive three-year deal with Amazon studios back in September 2019, and this is set to be the first series she will create for them.

Details about the plot and title of the new series have been kept firmly under wraps, but production is expected to start by the end of this year.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge is probably best known for her hilarious but painfully relatable comedy-drama Fleabag, which first aired in 2016.

The second and final series of the show ended in 2019 and won an incredible six Primetime Emmys for Prime Video, including Outstanding Comedy Series, with Waller-Bridge taking home three statuettes for herself.

She also made history as the only actress to win an Emmy, SAG Award, BAFTA Award and Golden Globe for the same performance.

Since the series ended, Phoebe has been seriously busy after serving as executive producer for Run, which she also starred in and picking up a role in the acclaimed series His Dark Materials. She also wrote the screenplay for the latest James Bond film No Time To Die.

On top of that, she is starring in the new Indiana Jones 5 film, which has just recently wrapped production and is set for release on 30 June 2023,

Phoebe is also the genius behind Killing Eve, which has recently come back to our screens for a new season.

This will be the fourth and final series of the show, which has generated just as much of a following as Fleabag, if not more.

Fans are devastated to be saying goodbye to Eve and Villanelle but are expecting a dramatic ending to their relationship.

Killing Eve is available to watch every Sunday until April 10, 2022 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
