As Stranger Things heads back to the small-screen, its star Millie Bobby Brown reckons the creators should take more deadly risks with their characters.

The fourth series of the popular sci-fi drama is back on Netflix this week, and Millie returns as Eleven as the teen gang try and move on from the harrowing events of series three.

There have only been a few minor characters to get the chop during the run, but Millie reckons the brains behind Stranger Things, The Duffer Brothers, should start killing off members of the big cast in a similar vein to Game of Thrones.

She told The Wrap: “We’re all afraid of one of us dying,” while co-star Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, added: “One of us will die. Or more. The cast is so big.”

After poking fun at the size of the cast and the fact they struggle to fit into one photo, Millie continued: “You need to start killing people off!

“The Duffer Brothers are sensitive sallys who don’t want to kill anybody off. We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones. Kill me off! They tried killing David [Harbour] off and they brought him back!”

The first half of series four lands on Netflix on Friday 27th May, and the streaming giant teased fans with the first eight minutes of episode one on YouTube.

Volume one will have seven episodes. Volume two, which debuts just over a month later, on Friday, July 1st, will have two episodes.

In the The New York Time profile of show creators Matt and Ross Duffer, it has also been confirmed that season 4 is “five hours longer than any previous one,” and three of the first four episodes are 75 minutes long “or more.” An official Netflix post gave some more specific numbers: the seventh episode is 1 hour, 38 minutes; the eighth is around 1 hour, 25 minutes; and the ninth is almost two and a half hours long.

As confirmed in an open letter by the pair earlier this year, this will be the final season. Boo!
