Summer is basically here, and that means more and more blockbuster films are on the horizon.

As the weather heats up, so does the selection of movies about to hit the big screen, with dinosaurs, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and even the late, great George Michael about to land in cinemas.

Here are all the films to watch out for in June 2022:

Men (1st June)

Horror fans will likely enjoy this next movie from The Beach’s Alex Garland.

Men stars Oscar-nominee Jessie Buckley as a recently widowed Harper, who decides to take a solo trip out to the countryside.

Things take a serious turn when Harper stumbles across a mysterious man out in the woods, and she can no longer shake the feeling that she’s being haunted by a strange presence.

Men opens in cinemas on Friday 1st June.

Jurassic World: Dominion (10th June)

The long-awaited third instalment in the Jurassic World series is finally here.

Retro dino-experts Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are back as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Ian Malcom, and need to join forces Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Isabella Sermon (as Maisie Lockwood) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing).

The official synopsis reads: "Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. They'll have to band together moving forward with the dinosaurs now sharing the planet with humans on the mainland."

Jurassic World: Dominion is out in cinemas on Friday 10th June.

Lightyear (17th June)

Lightyear sees the return (and origin story) of one of Toy Story’s most beloved characters.

Lightyear isn’t actually about the much-loved action figure that appeared in the Toy Story quadrilogy, but rather tells the origin story of the ‘real’ Buzz Lightyear (played by the other Chris Evans) on which the figure was based.

The story follows Buzz's rise through the ranks to become captain of the Universe Protection Unit of the Space Ranger corps, and finds him stuck on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth, attempting to make his way home.

As if that weren’t a tough enough challenge, the evil Zurg (voiced by James Brolin) is up to no good.

Lightyear lands in cinemas on Friday 17th June.

George Michael: Freedom Uncut (22nd June)

The final work of the late, great, George Michael will hit the big screen in Freedom Uncut.

The feature-length documentary will detail George's life throughout his incredible career, and fans can hear his voice once more in previously unseen footage.

The release is part of a global cinematic event, and the likes of Liam Gallagher, Stevie Wonder and Sir Elton John will share their memories of the musician before his death in 2016.

George Michael Freedom Uncut will be screening in cinemas worldwide on Wednesday 22nd June.

Elvis (24th June)

It’s finally here - Baz Lurhmann’s highly anticipated Elvis Presley biopic will finally land on the big screen.

Elvis, which features Austin Butler in the title-role, also stars Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge and Natasha Bassett, and focuses on the life and career of the singer over 20 years, concentrating on his complex relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks).

If you're wondering whether the film will be worth a trip to the cinema, none other than Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, has given it a firm thumbs up, calling it “absolutely exquisite”.

Elvis opens in cinemas on Friday June 24th, the same day that the soundtrack is released.
