Cate Blanchett is back. The Academy nominee stars as Lydia Tár, the greatest living composer in classical music. The fictional composer and first female chief conductor of a German orchestra is thought to be based on the true story of Eva Brunelli, the first woman to conduct at the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1923.

The slow motion teaser doesn't give much away, but fans of Cate can't wait to see what she's bringing to the big screen next.

In the trailer, we sees Blanchett in a single shot blowing a puff of smoke with a male voice-over noting that "there are other kinds of plagues that destroy us", referring to the global pandemic.

She is then seen conducting an orchestra in a dramatic scene.

Also starring in the upcoming feature, set to land in the UK and Ireland in January 2023, are Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner and Mark Strong.

"IT LOOKS AMAZING. I CANT WAIT," exclaimed one excitable fan.

"SHE LOOKS AMAZING, I CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THIS INCREDIBLE FILM OF HER," said another.

A third commented: "Finally a movie trailer that doesn't spoil the whole movie!"

While another added: "Cate Blanchett’s a legend."

"Omgg I am so excited ahh," penned one fan.

Looks Tar-rific.
