As we enter the second week of Virgin Radio Pride 2022, we will be looking at the thing that unites us all- love!
If you have ever tried finding love in this day and age, you will probably be familiar with the minefields that are the dating apps.
So this week, The Big Conversation will be focusing on what love means in 2022, with some much-needed advice on how to maximise your chances of finding it on the apps.
In the good old days, you would have to venture out to a bar or club if you had any hopes of finding someone to take home, and on Monday from 6pm, Steve Denyer will be joined by Jeremy Joseph, the owner of one of the biggest gay clubs in the country, G-A-Y.
Jeremy talks us through the very beginnings of the G-A-Y brand and covers the various iconic guest appearances he’s had in the club over the years, from Kylie to Madonna, and the incredible Adele.
On Tuesday, Tash and Adam will be taking a look back at what it meant to love as LGTBQ+ people in the Logbooks from 6pm.
In this instalment, the pair delve into the work of campaigners such as Hugo Greenhalgh and Euan Sutherland, supported by Stonewall, who worked tirelessly to achieve equality for the LGBTQ+ community. They also hear from Phil Samba about his current work of campaigning around queer sex.
For the special on Wednesday at 6pm, Virgin Radio Pride will be addressing the hot topic of the week- finding love in 2022. We will ask what it means to love in our current world with some advice on what to write in your dating app bios to enhance your chances of finding love.
Matt Cain will also be meeting filmmaker Jake Graf, known for his roles in The Danish Girl and Colette, from 6pm on Thursday as they chat about Graf’s life from growing up trans to starting a family with his trans wife, Hannah.
As we move into the weekend, Stephen Sullivan will be waking us up from 6am on Saturday and Sunday with his Drag Breakfast show, and Mr Showbiz himself, Crossey, will be chatting with the cast of Love Victor from 4pm Saturday.
Finally, on Sunday evening from 6pm Virgin Radio Pride will be celebrating two special guests and their extraordinary lives followed by Emma Goswell at 7pm, who will be joined by two members of the LGBTQ+ family as they dissect this week’s Big Conversation topic as it comes to an end.
