Liam Gallagher's son Gene to support Oasis on tour

Liam Gallagher's son Gene will follow in his father's footsteps and support Oasis on their sell-out reunion tour.

Gene is the frontman of a band called Villanelle, who previously supported Liam on his smaller run of solo shows.

Now his band is set to be one of 10 acts warming up for Oasis on their keenly-anticipated headline tour.

The Daily Mail reports that Gene's band is currently unsigned, however they will be releasing a debut single with an independent label later this year.

With musical parents like Liam and All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, it's no surprise that Gene has become a musician too.

He previously said: "I want to be the biggest band in the world."

Reports claim Liam made his son audition for his solo support shows but later wrote on social media, "They're good. I'm going to put them on first for the Definitely, Maybe tour."

Gene's older half-brother, Lennon, is also in a band, called Automotion.

It's not known whether they will join Oasis on tour.

"Family comes first," wrote one fan: "Maybe Oasis will be at a Villanelle gig in November, they gotta perform somewhere before the big first gig back in 15 years!"

"Have to give a slot to Sam Fender! Villanelle, Sam, Kasabian and Oasis would be lit" added another.

"Villanelle debut album when?" demanded another fan.
