Further details have been shared about the much-anticipated memoir from Britney Spears.

The star first announced the book back in April 2022, but various delays pushed it back until now.

Called The Woman In Me, the book will be released on October 24 according to People shared.

The book will be released by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

They won a major bidding war last year to secure the rights, in a deal Variety reports a "record-breaking".

The deal was believed to be worth a whopping $15 million.

Britney previously revealed the book will cover her conservatorship or 13 years, as well as a warts-and-all telling of life with her family members.

The front cover features a topless photo of a younger Britney in black and white, with her hands over her chest.

"Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery," Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books Senior Vice President and Publisher said.

"I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact — and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last."

A press release says the book will share "for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history."

They also say it "illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms."

It has also been branded "a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith and hope.'"

The book was completed in July of last year, but it was delayed by a paper shortage in the publishing industry.

Two unnamed A-list stars also wrote letters to the publisher concerned about their possible portrayal in the book.

Britney turned down several high profile interviews with the likes of Oprah, in favour of writing it in her own words.

Fans have been praising news of the book online.

"Book of the millennium. We love you, Britney," wrote one.

"We can’t wait! Will she be the voice for the audio book?" asked another.

"Preordered it the second she announced it" said one keen fan.
