Ant McPartlin was left injured during the live finale of Saturday Night Takeaway last night (13th April).

It wouldn’t be live TV without some mishaps, and the grand finale of Saturday Night Takeaway was no exception.

The popular ITV gameshow ended this weekend after 22 years with a star-studded final episode at London’s Television Centre. The show included appearances from McFly, Girls Aloud, Jordan North, Josie Gibson, Scarlett Moffatt, Little Ant and Dec, and returning stars Ashley Roberts and Kirsty Gallacher.

However, during the Ant vs Dec challenge, one of the hosts was left bleeding after an incident with Stephen Mulhern.

The challenge saw the pair go head to head in a football shoot-out where they were attempting to score past former Man United and West Brom keeper Ben Foster. In the end, it was Dec who won as presenter Stephen Mulhern cheered from the sidelines.

During the celebrations, Ant then tackled Stephen, who was cheering for Dec, and the show went to an ad break.

When the duo appeared back in the studio after the break, Ant could be seen dabbing his cheek with a tissue.

“I cut my face jumping on Stephen Mulhern,” he explained, wiping his face. “I’ve got a Stephen Mulhern-related injury. Where there's a blame, there's a claim!”

After the two-hour-long finale, Ant and Dec wrapped the series by thanking viewers for their support over the years and serenaded the audience with a rewritten rendition of McFly’s hit All About You.

Taking to social media after the show, the duo said: “Thank you thank you thank you 🙏 To all the guests, crew, and most importantly you at home who have made the last 20 series so incredible to be part of. We are so grateful to everyone who tuned in and we couldn’t have done it without you 😊😍🥰.”
