The narrative sees Kate Cooper (Edgar-Jones) lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos), to test a groundbreaking new tracking system, even though she remains haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado.

She soon crosses paths with social-media superstar Tyler Owens (Powell). As storm season intensifies, Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple systems converge over central Oklahoma.

Glen Powell chatted to and other press from the red carpet of the event in Leicester Square. When asked about making science and weather sexy, the movie star told us: “This movie, I mean, look, it's hard to look ridiculous chasing tornadoes in a big truck and with a great cast around. It's just, it's the dream.”

Regarding the fun he had smashing into things while driving trucks in the action scenes, he said: “We got to do some wild stuff with that truck. We had four of them, and I think we went through all of them!”

The 1996 original starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. It proved to be a success at the box office, grossing $495 million worldwide, making it the second-highest-grossing film of 1996.

It received Academy Award nominations for Best Visual Effects and Best Sound.

Also at the Premiere, Daisy Edgar-Jones revealed why she "couldn't hear for a while" after filming the tornado scenes.

Keep an eye on for more interviews from the European Premiere of Twisters, including chats with Anthony Ramos, director Lee Isaac Chung and more.
