Winter is the season of the cold and flu, and it seems that even rock gods like the Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't immune to it either.

The band have postponed gigs in Dublin due to take place tonight and tomorrow after frontman Anthony Keidis suffered a bout of flu.

The Chillies, who released their 11th album earlier this year, have released a statement.

It says: “We are so sorry that we cannot come to Dublin as planned for the next few days.

"Anthony has been fighting off the flu all week, and after the show last night, it was clear that he has to stop touring.”

The shows in the Irish capital have been rescheduled for September 20 and 21 next year.
