Dave Grohl recently admitted that he thinks that his band have "never been cool".
The former Nirvana drummer said this on the Good For You podcast after Whitney Cummings suggested to him that Foo Fighters are a cool band.
Dave Grohl responded to the podcast host by saying "You know the whole dad rock thing? We're totally Dad rock."

He went on to say: “First of all, we are all dads, and you’re right, we’re a rock band… Look, I’m 50 years old, I have grey hair… But you know, the thing is, I have never considered our band cool, and I like that."
This is something that Dave Grohl thinks has contributed to the longevity of Foo Fighters: “ I think that the reason why we’re still here is because we do kind of disconnect ourselves from the popular stuff that’s going on...I just want to play music.”
This follows the Foo Fighters front-man saying that the band's upcoming album is "wierd".
