Who left Strictly Come Dancing and who’s in next week’s final?

Strictly Spolier alert! Last night Jamie Laing battled it out in the ballroom against Ranvir Singh and the Made In Chelsea star narrowly beat the presenter as she waltzed off home. Jamie was in the bottom two - again - and performed a salsa in a too-close-to-call dance-off.

The final decision came down to head judge Shirley Ballas while judges Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabusi chose to save Ranvir.

Ballas told them: “This is very difficult because I’ve grown to love both couples. I’m getting quite emotional now. Musicality, determination, conviction from both teams, they just gave their all.

"I think both couples couldn’t have danced those dances better than they did tonight, it was incredible and I want to see both of you in the final.

"But I just feel that one couple had a little more determination, a little bit more: ‘I’m not leaving without that trophy’ and with that in mind I’m saving Jamie and Karen."

How does that work? One was dancing a salsa - the other a waltz. Hardly a fair match of oomph?

The pair were clearly emotional as they said their ballroom goodbyes.

Ranvir told Tess Daly: ”I’m just really sorry for him Gio, he’s worked so hard and been in so many finals that I’m really sorry I couldn’t do it for you. Sorry.

"We’ve had some really fantastic memorable moments and I know I couldn’t have got this far without you."

Craig said: "Well one of course did an explosive fabulous salsa, the other couple did a dreamy delicious, gorgeous waltz.

Mosti added: “Well this was really one tough decision, we had two beautiful dances, two beautiful human beings and I will save Ranvir and Giovanni."

Strictly returns next weekend on Saturday (December 19, 2020) for - can you believe it? - the final at 6pm with Bill Bailey, HRVY, Maisie Smith and Jamie Laing going for the ultimate Glitterball.
