The end of lockdown couldn't come any quicker, so here is a comprehensive list of the businesses that Boris has deemed safe to open from Monday 29th March including outdoor swimming pools and tennis courts. Get ready for a Baltic swim.

The rule of six (or the meeting of two households outdoors) will also be allowed from the beginning of next week.  

Reopening on March 29th are:

Businesses which run outdoor sports facilities including:

Tennis courts

Basketball courts

Golf courses

Water sports venues

Swimming pools

Archery venues

Riding centres

Climbing walls

Driving and shooting ranges  

Indoor sports facilities and gyms won't be allowed to open up for five more weeks until April 12th, while exercise class fans will have to wait until mid-May.

What businesses will still be closed on March 29?

The doors will still be shut on all non-essential shops and businesses classified as "non-essential" including:

Clothing and homeware stores

Vehicle showrooms, other than for rental

Betting shops

Tailors

Tobacco and vape shops

Electronic goods and mobile phone shops

Auction houses, except for auctions of livestock and agricultural equipment

Market stalls selling non-essential goods

Bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants except for takeaway and delivery

Hotels, hostels, guest houses and campsites, except for specific circumstances

Leisure centres and gyms

Swimming pools, sports courts, fitness and dance studios, riding arenas at riding centres, climbing walls, and golf courses

Theatres, concert halls, cinemas, museums and galleries

Casinos, amusement arcades, bingo halls, bowling alleys

Skating rinks, go-karting venues, indoor play and soft play centres and areas

Circuses, fairgrounds, funfairs, water parks and theme parks

Zoos, safari parks, and aquariums

Indoor attractions at venues such as botanical or other gardens, biomes or greenhouses

Hairdressers, barbers and nail salons

Tattoo and piercing shops

Beauty and tanning salons

Nightclubs and adult entertainment venues

Community centres and halls apart from a few exceptions  

Businesses allowed to be open from April 12 include hairdressers, barbers, pubs and bars - as long as they serve outside.

Restrictions on everything are hoping to be lifted by June 21 but all remains dependent on the coronavirus cases keeping under control and progress in dishing out the vaccine.
