Harry Styles wins his first award for acting

Harry Styles won many awards as a part of One Direction, but he has been moving into the world of acting.

He has several major films coming soon, including Don't Worry Darling and My Policeman.

Styles has just won an award for My Policeman, his first recognition for acting.

The film recently appeared at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival).

Harry stars as a gay policeman, Tom Burgess, who is married to a school teacher (Emma Corrin).

He is also embroiled in a secret love affair with a museum curator (David Dawson).

The film is set in 1950’s Brighton, where he is forced to keep his relationship a secret.

Speaking in an interview, Harry said: “It’s obviously pretty unfathomable now to think, ‘Oh, you couldn’t be gay. That was illegal,’”

“I think everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it. It’s not like, ‘This is a gay story about these guys being gay.’ It’s about love and about wasted time to me.”

Harry and the cast of My Policeman received the award for ensemble at the festival Tribute Awards on Sunday night.

In his acceptance speech, Styles said: "Thank you so much to everyone here, on behalf of all of us, for this wonderful, wonderful award.. We all loved working on this film so much. And we hope you enjoy it.”
