The Mandalorian season three release date confirmed

If you can't wait for the next season of The Mandalorian, then you’ve now at least got a date to put in your diary.

Excitingly, the much-loved Star Wars spin-off will be back for a third outing early next year, Disney has confirmed. 

Yes, Mando and Baby Yoda will ride together again as soon as next Spring, with the show coming back to Disney+ on 1st March, 2023.

If it feels like it’s been a while, that’s because the return of the show will come over two years after the last episode dropped. The final episode of season two in late December 2020, while Mando also turned up in the spin-off series, The Book of Boba Fett.

Not only will the narrative of season three follow on from the events of season two of the Disney+ series, but it will also pick up from where The Book of Boba Fett left off. Having been told that he “is a Mandalorian no more,” because he removed his helmet and let people see his face in season two, Din returns to Mandalore.

The new season will see the return of Carl Weathers as the bounty hunter leader Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, and Katee Sackhoff, who plays Bo-Katen Kryze. 

Season three will also reunite us with Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, and Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing.

Meanwhile, Back to the Future legend Christopher Lloyd will be joining the cast.

The Mandalorian season three will be executive produced and written by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.

The first trailer for season three of the award-winning show landed in September. In it, Din asks Grogu: “You ready for an adventure?” 

We certainly are! 

The Mandalorian season three will premiere on Disney+ on 1st March 2023.
