The vegan version of the snack is making a comeback!

Two months ago, the bakery chain announced the return of the much-loved sausage, bean and cheese melt.

Fans of the snack took to social media in their droves to share their excitement for its comeback, with celebs like Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall getting involved.

It was good news for everyone except the plant-based foodies who were left wondering when the vegan version of the snack would also be making a return.

Well, their wait is over.

Greggs have put the vegan sausage, bean and cheeze melt back on their shelves as of yesterday afternoon.

It first introduced the plant-based pastry back in August but after selling out, it went on a hiatus.

The snack contains vegan sausage, grated original and mozzarella flavour vegan cheese, and, of course, baked beans all wrapped in a crispy puff pastry.

Finally, the delicious snack is now available to order in shops for £1.65.

The bakery chain has become known for its vegan options in recent years ever since their vegan sausage roll was first introduced and had people queueing up around the street.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “The Vegan Sausage, Bean & CheeZe Melt was extremely popular last year, and we’re excited to be putting it back on the menu.”

In other news, Greggs launched their biggest ever café earlier this month.

They set up the cage, which is called Tasty by Greggs, in a Primark in Birmingham and it is the biggest in the world.

This came as part of the bakery’s collaboration with Primark after they also released new Greggs-themed clothing with the fashion retailer. It proved quite popular and the collection sold out pretty quickly.

Some were so desperate to get their hands on the collab, that people were listing sold-out items from the collection for as much as £140 on eBay.

We Brits do love our Greggs!
