The two shows were originally meant to take place last year but were postponed until 14th September 2023 due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The duo, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, thanked previous ticket holders “...We thank you for your patience as we found a new date.”

This announcement comes amongst many others that the pair have had to ‘Shout’ about recently.

Not only have they just released a new single, Rivers of Mercy, from last year’s new album The Tipping Point, the pair have also announced a tour of the USA.

In another tweet that spearheaded the release of dates the band shared footage of them sound checking their cover of Radiohead’s 1993 classic  ‘Creep’

Although this is exciting news for our friends across the pond, many here are hoping that more dates will be added to the UK with twitter users saying that “...there are so many of us in the UK clamouring to see you.”

One user even went to make it personal by tweeting “...,you owe me for cancelling Canterbury x”.

Whether more dates will be confirmed remains to be seen but whatever they decide to do, it is certainly going to be a ‘Mad World’ once again for the band.
