2021 is already stellar for Adele, but the singer has  managed to squeeze in yet another historic milestone before the year is out.

According to Billboard, the singer’s latest album 30 is the first record in over a year to sell over one million copies in the US.

The traditional sales are across digital downloads, CDs, vinyls and cassettes, and the last artist to break the same record was Taylor Swift all the way back in 2020 with her album Folklore.

Back in the UK, the chart-topper continues to be the one to beat, having already spent two weeks in the top spot, and hoping to claim a third.

For both of those weeks, Adele also landed at number one in both the Official Album Charts and Official Singles Charts for her track Easy On Me.

Reaching the top of the charts almost seems easy for Adele, who can celebrate all four of her albums - 19, 21, 25, and now 30, reaching number one.

It comes after not one, but two, incredible comeback performances in London and Los Angeles, where she had some of the world’s biggest stars in attendance.

Back in October, Adele let fans into her inspiration for the record in a now infamous Instagram Live, where she revealed it was all about “divorce, baby, divorce”.

Adele, who split with husband Simon Konecki earlier this year, also told Vogue that the album is her attempt to explain the divorce to her 9-year-old son Angelo when he's older.
