Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are shown chatting together in the iconic Gryffindor common room at Hogwarts, in the latest look at the Harry Potter reunion special.

The special has been recorded for HBO, to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the first film.

The latest trailer for 'Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts' features Harry, Hermione and Ron (played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint) talking together in the common room.

They were filmed in the Gryffindor common room at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London.

The trio is shown in a photo talking and reminiscing about old times together.

The first film came out back in November 2001.

A summary of the reunion show describes it as: "The retrospective special will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time."

Put the date in your diary, as the show is due to air on New Year’s Day.

As well as Daniel, Emma and Rupert, will be fellow stars Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, and Evanna Lynch.

There will be in-depth interviews and never-seen-before clips.

A former director of the films has said he would love to work on another movie, either a reunion or turning the stage show of The Cursed Child.

A short trailer was released earlier this week showing characters receiving Hogwarts letters as an invitation to return.

Fans noted that author J.K Rowling was absent from the clips, but producers have confirmed that she will appear in archive footage.
